May 4th was a busy day for members of Jakku Temple as they appeared at events all around Central Texas.
The temple attended a special visitation at Methodist Children’s Hospital in San Antonio, traveling room-by-room for children dealing with multiple levels of ailments, some of them battling to overcome life-threatening diseases. The joy that members brought to the families was apparent and the children all responded with overwhelmingly positive reactions. Gifts were presented to the families and patients donated by Jakku Temple members. Saber Guild also answered a last minute request and attended a second visitation at Dell Children’s Hospital alongside members of the 501st Star Garrison.
Members of Jakku Temple performed at Round Rock Express’s Star Wars Night in Round Rock before the game on the baseball field and hosted an Interactive Jedi Experience for the children attending the game during the seventh inning stretch.
Throughout the game, members posed for pictures and entertained guests. Jakku Temple donated Star Wars children’s items that were raffled off alongside a team jersey that helped raise funds for a local non-profit theater group.
Finally, Jakku Temple enjoyed its second year participating in May the 4th Be With Ya’ll. Again they were able to perform an Interactive Jedi Experience and helped raise $2,400 and awareness for the Ronald McDonald House.
